Sophia Yen, an alumna of UC Berkeley, championed the establishment of the National Alumnae Board to carry on the sisterhood beyond graduation. In 2015, the National Alumnae Association named its scholarship in her honor: the Sophia Yen Scholarship Award. This legacy of alumnae-driven empowerment lives on through the aKDPhi Foundation, which proudly adopted the scholarship in 2021.

The Sophia Yen Scholarship recognizes exceptional sisters, both active and alumna, in pursuit of their professional development through education.
